Face/fate

A Lennon-McCartney classic. Simple, raw, lovely, melodic, rhythmic, dance-y song. Starts out gloomy but gets optimistic along the verses. Sheer Beatles brilliance. And an open-string  solo by Harrison is like the  Modernism of guitar playing. I could listen to this a hundred times in a row.

The cover by Jim Sturgess for the movie "Across the Universe" is not bad. Maybe I should learn this song too—a sort of song-in-the-pocket. You'll never know when you'll get the chance to play.

I'll just have to make sure I could manage the stage fright for two minutes and five seconds.
