UME is an international architecture magazine produced by Australia-based Haig Beck and Jackie Cooper. There has been 22 issues published since 1996, and since 2007 all issues have been available online and free for download. The publishers chose the name UME as a false acronym, it has no meaning besides the letters having 'asymmetrical balance'.
UME features selected Australian architects such as Glenn Murcutt as well as international practioners like Zaha Hadid and Richard Rogers among others. The magazine also highlights socially and culturally significant works of emerging architects from around the world.
With UME the readers can study conceptual and technical drawings by architects, learn from photographic documentation of the projects, and educate themselves with texts written by practicing architects and scholars.
UME is a great resource for a sucker for anything architecture Ulike ME.
